Mr Sachin Malde is a highly experienced Consultant Urologist offering expert care for both men and women with urinary symptoms and bladder conditions. He brings over a decade of specialist training and clinical experience, having graduated from the prestigious Guy’s, King’s, and St Thomas’ School of Medicine in 2006 and completed advanced urology training on the renowned London training programme.  

Appointed as a Consultant at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in 2016—one of the UK’s leading hospitals—Mr Malde is recognised for his sub-specialist expertise in complex bladder disorders, urinary tract infections (UTIs), urinary incontinence, and bladder pain conditions. He has also undertaken highly specialist fellowship training at University College London Hospital, focusing on male and female urological health. He is the Lead for Functional and Reconstructive Urology at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, and the South-East London network Lead for Benign Prostate Enlargement.

Mr Sachin Malde is internationally recognised as a key opinion leader in the management of urinary tract infections (UTIs), bladder pain syndrome, urinary incontinence, and benign prostate enlargement. His academic work and clinical research have helped shape modern approaches to these complex conditions, earning him a reputation as one of the leading voices in the field of functional and reconstructive urology.

 

He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications and contributed to more than 10 book chapters, with a focus on bladder dysfunction, chronic infections, male and female incontinence, and minimally invasive treatments for prostate enlargement. His research is widely cited and has contributed to improving the diagnosis, treatment, and quality of life for patients worldwide.

Professional Memberships and Committees

Mr Malde plays an active role in shaping international standards of care. He is a member of the European Association of Urology (EAU) Guideline Panel for the treatment of male lower urinary tract symptoms and incontinence, and serves on the Board of the International Society for the Study of Bladder Pain Syndrome (ESSIC)—a global organisation advancing research and treatment of bladder pain conditions. He is a member of the British Association of Urological Surgeon and International Continence Society, and serves on the editorial board of high impact Urology journals.

Awards and Prizes

In recognition of his pioneering work into the specialist investigation of men with urinary incontinence following prostate cancer treatment, Mr Malde was awarded the Gold Medal for outstanding research by University College London.

Mr Malde has a keen interest in teaching and training. He has actively involved in training the next generation of urologists, serving as a faculty tutor on specialist international courses run by the European Association of Urology, British Association of Urological Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons, where he teaches advanced techniques in bladder and prostate surgery. He is the undergraduate Urology lead for King’s College London Medical School, and a tutor on the London Deanery teaching programme for specialty registrars.
